To You a Season of Melodious Spam
:tree:
From the poem To You a Season of Melodious Tidings:
To you a season of melodious tidings.
In darkness may life be a lovely flame.
Now the year turns back towards warmth and passion
As all our dying dreams are born again.

Well, a lot of Christmas songs started out as poems, but I couldn't think of any.

No thanks. You know how I feel about Christmas. Besides, most experts agree that if Jesus Christ was a real person, he was born in the spring.

*sigh* You're not going to make me cite a bunch of references are you? Because you know I will and then you know I'll be right and you'll have to
say, "Huh, I guess you're right." December 25th was an old pagan holiday to do with the winter solstice. Experts think either Christmas began to be
celebrated on that date to make the conversion from pagan religions to Christianity easier, or else it was to stop the persecution of Christians, or
else it was a combination of both.

yeah yeah I know that. But, I was taught the other in church. I'll have to see if I can find anything about it or if it was just someone trying to
justify the date.

There are people who do the September thing because of the Jewish calendar, but...well, look it up yourself:

What a way to start off the thread. Lol. I don't know about any "scientists" speculation (even if evidence) about what season the actual birth of
Christ took place. I'd only believe them if they were Christian or if it were on the History channel.
It's finally cooled off here. Took it till noon to do so, though. I think it's just the nice winter wind we're getting. But hey, it'll do.

Our winter wind isn't being very nice. I had to pull furniture out of the pool this morning, and we have these little, bead-like seeds from our palm
trees that are everywhere!
Jesus was born in the spring. The shepherds were watching their flocks in the fields, which means they needed to be warm enough to be in the fields!
Oh, and there were probably a grunch of wise men, and they probably arrived about two years after Jesus was born.
Speaking of which, I saw a premiere of The Nativity. It was good. And Balthazar was awesome. :santa:

That's what I had remembered it as, Skratch.
What is Balthazar about?
My sisters bf's package he sent to us arrived today. He got me the cutest stuffed monkey!

Stuffed monkey! Does he look anything like the monkey in my siggy?
Balthazar is traditionally the name of one of the Magi. The Balthazar in the movie was awesome.

I've been playing with my Create-A-Pet today. I've made a kneazle, a crup, and a grim/Snuffles (as close as I can get them). I think I'll upload
them to TSR later.

I'm home alone. Mom and dad went out shopping, Kat's at work, and one of my brothers is cleaning his room (which he'll never come out of ) and the other is napping, so basically, I'm home alone. I'm very befuddled
though: My dad handed me 60 bucks and told me to keep it quiet. I know the $50 was for a birthday gift card they were unable to get, but I'm unsure
about the other $10 and he didn't address it, just said not to tell mom or anyone else.:elf:

Interesting, very interesting. Now you have me wondering, too, Shadow.
Mom's done with her fellowship, and although she's signed a contract for where she's gonna work, she should still have this next month or so off.
I'm not done with her skirt yet, though (have barely started cutting it out), so while she's off getting her hair done today, I'm gonna work on it
some more.
I've already taken pictures of the kneazle. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j290/skratchyourhead/Pets/snapshot_b27c5202... That's just vaguely how I envisioned them, and
the coloring can be changed to the user's liking. Padfoot, do you even have Pets? I know Mad-Eye does.
