This Used to be My Spamground

Yeah, I know this one is a stretch, but I love Madonna and I had to get her on here. Coming in at #20 on the Top 100 songs of all time is This Used to be My Playground by Madonna.

Quote:
This used to be my playground (used to be)
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need
Of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say

Don't look back
Keep your head held high
Don't ask them why
Because life is short
And before you know
You're feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Don't hold on to the past
Well that's too much to ask

[Long and movie versions only:]

[chorus]
Live and learn
Well the years they flew
And we never knew
We were foolish then
We would never tire
And that little fire
Is still alive in me
It will never go away
Can't say goodbye to yesterday (can't say goodbye)

[chorus]

No regrets
But I wish that you
Were here with me
Well then there's hope yet
I can see your face
In our secret place
You're not just a memory
Say goodbye to yesterday (the dream)
Those are words I'll never say (I'll never say)

This used to be my playground (used to be)
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy

[Short and movie versions only:]

This used to be our playground (used to be)
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
I wish you were standing here with me

[Movie version only:]

This used to be our playground (used to be)
This used to be our great escape
This used to be the place we ran to
This used to be our secret hiding place

This used to be our playground (used to be)
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
The best things in life are always free
Wishing you were here with me

I had an order I was going to do these music threads in, but this title seemed most appropriate, so I chose it (um, because no one ever posts anymore!).

We post! Or are you talking about the, uh, Harry Potter part of this website?

I just got up from a one hour nap that I accidentally turned into a two hour nap. But it was a very good nap!

Meh, Alafel's around a bit more than once a month (when he's not on vacation). But yes, this does generally feel like the Mad-Eye and Skratchy show. :frog:

Hey! This is my FOURTH post this month, thank you very much! I don't post much when I get really busy, because it takes considerably more time and mental processing power to assemble a coherent sentence than it does to read what someone else wrote.

Wait... there's a Harry Potter part of this site? When did this happen? And why was I not informed? ;)

To say that the Harry Potter part of the site dropped off into obscurity would be an understatement on the grandest scale.

And by "the Harry Potter part of the site" you mean "every part of the site except the spam threads." Should we rename this to "sonofaspam.net"? Or perhaps "spamofabludger"? ;)

SonOfSpam sounds way too much like Son of Sam. I tried to convince Padfoot to convert the site to something else a couple of years ago but she was less than lukewarm about the idea. This July it will be 3 years since the last HP book came out! It's time for something new.

Has it really been that long? I guess it has, it just feels like it couldn't have been.

Wow... that means I've been on this site for almost 3 years...

I have time to be depressed. The battery light is on in my truck which does not bode well. It's not the alternator!

Battery light is no good. Any idea when the battery was last changed?

The battery is good. I'm bringing it to a shop tomorrow so they can rip the alternator apart. Obviously there is something wrong with it and the voltmeter is not picking it up.

Ya know, that which creates in me the greatest desire to become a housewife is working on student finances. There are several points when I'm ready to throw my hands up in the air about the whole money thing, and just pretend I'm clueless about the whole matter, content to spend the rest of my days sewing, vacuuming, and ironing. :hammer:

There is something about a good computer chair nap that is so wonderful. My cat tried to wake me up a couple of times but I wasn't having it.

Yay for naps. I had one on Monday, and it was glorious. I was tempted to take a nap this evening, but I knew I'd never wake up tonight, or I'd never wake up on time tomorrow.

Eep. And I thought I wasn't getting much sleep. I don't think I've slept well in almost a week, waking up 5-10 times during the course of the night. I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was an assassin in the Old Republic (Star Wars). That woke me up at 4:50am.

I made a batch of chai for the first time in well over a year. I decided to use Hazelnut creamer in this batch instead of the usual french vanilla or swiss chocolate. It tastes like chai, with a hint of dirty feet. I don't suppose I will be using Hazelnut creamer in my chai again.

Boo for the hint of dirty feet. I was off at a coffee shop with my boyfriend in November, and I ordered chai. He claims he can't stand tea, so when I told him that chai was sorta related to tea, he refused to taste any. >_>

Silly skratch, you make them try it first and THEN tell them what's in it. I had no idea what chai was the first time I ordered it; I just thought the name was cool. Hot tea is too weak for me. Even if I put five bags in a cup it's still not strong enough, so I don't see any point in drinking it. To me I may as well drink hot water. I like iced tea though, but only if it's like Nestea and not made from real tea leaves (you know, instant tea).
