Small Book Shops in UK May Not Carry DH
Posted on Jan 17 2007 by PadfootReturns
Some small bookshop owners may not carry JKRs final installment. They say they are unable to compete with the low prices of Amazon and other discount book stores. The independent bookshop owners say they  took a big loss with HBP. And some feel they can't afford another. Still others feel they have no choice but to take the loss again to keep loyal customers happy. Nothing was said about pre-ordering. So my advice to our friends across the pond is to be sure to preorder. With the increase in demand on the bookstores that will carry it there could be a shortage. I'd make sure I was guaranteed a copy! Read the story in the Telegraph.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and Prisoner of Azkaban will be removed from shelves Friday, January 5, 2007. Goblet of Fire is rumored to be removed later this month. But don't be too upset. It's also rumored that  High Definition replacements will be released in the run up of the release of The Order of the Phoenix scheduled for July 13,2007.  Just make sure you have your copies handy before they're removed from shelves.

Wild Predictions
Posted on Dec 31 2006 by PadfootReturns
Since JKR has released the title of her final book in the Harry Potter Series there has been wild speculation as to it's release date. 7/7/07 is by far the favorite. The reasoning was sound enough. Releasing the seventh book on the seventh day of the seventh month in the seventh year of the new millennium would be more than cool. And then there's the bit that Voldemort's soul is in seven pieces. Also there's the great observation that 7/7/07 is on a Saturday. The last 3 books in the series were released on a Saturday. And though I wish it were so, I don't think it can be. The publishers don't even have it yet. She would have to be done with it NOW to have a chance. Then there is also the fact that OotP the movie is being released 7/13/07. That is too close. She wouldn't want the 2 competing for attention. I personally would be very happy to take vacation the entire week and drowned myself  in Harry Potter Mania. But I don't see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.

JKR has announced the name of the seventh book of her series on her website in her exciting fashion. What a wonderful Christmas present!  We have  turboshannie   to thank for alerting us to the new development.  Join the discussion  here.   Shadow_of_Illusions  has graciously  given us directions on how to get the name  here.  There are several steps to go through to get it.  I have not posted the name here just in case there is anyone who doesn't want to know it.  But the name is given  in the above theads.
